What is the switching frequency of a power supply? Jan. 13,2021
The switching frequency of the pool light power supply refers to the rate at which the DC voltage is turned on and off during the pulse width modulation process in the led strip light power supply.

The switching frequency in the converter is the rate at which the switching device turns on and off. The frequency ranges from a few KHz to several megahertz (20Khz-2MHz). The higher the switching frequency, the smaller the space requirements of the circuit board and enclosure and the size of related components (such as inductors, transformers, resistors and capacitors).

A sine wave or square wave oscillator is usually used to convert the battery's DC voltage to a higher frequency. When using high frequency SMPS led light drivers, you can use PWM or PFM controller to turn on and off MOSFET, power transistor or thyristor.

Pulse frequency modulation (PFM) adjusts the variable switching frequency to control the number of times the device is turned on and off per second. Usually used for square wave switching signals. Compared with sine waves, it is easier to filter and adjust.
