There are a few difference in dc led power supplies with 24v and 48v both voltages.

24Vdc: There are more power supplies available in 24V than 48V, this will makes them more compatible with phase cut dimming dimmers and 0/1-10v dimming, RF handhold dimmers and phone app dimming. That is the reason for 24V working voltage is preferred for most projects.

Since voltage drop, the run length gets decreased from 131’ to 82’ (48v to 24v), this is a small problem due to most projects will require not more than 82’ in series. The physical size for 48vdc power supplies may also be larger because the amperage is higher. This may be an issue if have a limited tight space to install them.

48Vdc: The main purpose of the 48Vdc led drivers is the long run length. We never heard that having 131’ in one continuous line of in low voltage systems so far. If you have a building project ask for long-distance run, long hallway for cove lighting, low voltage power supply with 48V voltage is a great choice.
